Janome Even Feed Foot for Horizontal Rotary Hook, 7mm (Open Toe - L/Shank)

The even feed foot (sometimes referred to as ‘walking foot’) is designed with a set of feed dogs (teeth) which allow the fabric to feed without shifting. This eliminates the problem of having the under layer of fabric come up short. The even feed foot is also great for topstitching, which can be inconsistent due to the irregularity of stitching. This is often caused by the bulk created with the seam allowance especially around collars and reveres. Using the walking foot for topstitching will eliminate this problem and give perfect stitching every time. Also includes quilting guide.

The Even Feed Foot for Memory Craft embroidery machines "walks" over fabric to assist with smooth feeding. With this foot, fabric can be sewn without shifting or puckering since the fabric is gripped and fed by both upper and lower feed dogs. It works well with materials such as knit, vinyl, plastics or leather. One of the most popular Sewing Machine attachments is, without doubt, the Even Feed Foot. Use this foot when matching stripes and checks, sewing draylons and velvets, making up knitwear or when sewing long seams on curtains especially if matching patterns.  It is also useful when tackling leather, vinyl, or plastics and other difficult-to-handle materials.

It is an absolute must for quilters.  Used with the Quilting guide it helps to maintain perfect parallel lines when stitching and keeps the fabric and batting layers from feeding through unevenly.  This Open-Toe version is often preferred by quilters as it allows better visibility of the stitching and needle position.
