Supply List for Rag Quilt Class
Sewing machine in GOOD WORKING CONDITION with power and foot control, accessories and manual.
We will make a BABY SIZE QUILT. You may choose to make a larger version by purchasing more material if needed.
Materials required for either style:
A minimum of 3 meters in total of good quality cotton flannel fabrics PLUS 1.60 meters of either an Osnaberg, Muslin OR a neutral flannel for the middle or filler fabric. We won’t be using any batting as it gets too heavy!
For the Traditional Squares Rag Style, this can be an assortment of Fat Quarters for a scrappy look. For the entire project to be scrappy, students will need a minimum of 16 flannel fat quarters. OR; for a single fabric backing, they will need 1.50 meters of their choice of the backing flannel and an assortment of 8 fat quarters for the front. OR; for a less scrappy version you will need 1.5 m. for the back and 3 x .50 m. cut pieces for the front. PLUS, you will need 1.60 meters of the filler fabric of your choice.
For the Modern Stripe Rag Style Quilt, you will need fabric cut off the bolt. Fat Quarters will NOT work as you need the width of fabric to make your project-wide enough. For the scrappy version, purchase .50 meters of 6 different, coordinating flannel fabrics. OR for a less busy stripe, choose 3 fabrics at .50 meter each and 1 fabric of 1.50 meters. PLUS, you will need the 1.60 m of the filler fabric of your choice.
