Cost: $65 plus supply list
Supply List (students should bring the following):
  • Bring 10-12 sandwiched squares or rectangles that were pre-class preparation you were to do.
  • Sewing machine: cleaned, oiled, and serviced recently, sewing bed extension recommended, (larger the better), screwdriver that came with your machine to attach feet if necessary, NOTE: (Must be able to drop your feed dogs or you cannot do this class and must have a ruler foot for your machine!). Please be familiar with your sewing machine. I am familiar with Janome and Bernina only.
  • Bring machine manual
  • Extension cords, power bar (store have these)
  • Basic Sewing Kit:  scissors, stitch ripper, straight pins, safety pins
  • Fabric markers: Quilters pencil or washable markers
  • Pen & paper for your notes.
  • Bring Ruler work rulers only if you have them. Beginners package is available for purchase.  The instructor will have rulers to try out before buying or ordering so you can see if you like them before buying as can be expensive.  It is best to get basic package for a starter.
  • Machine quilting needles: Topstitch 80/12 or 90/14 (bring what you have). I use Janome purple needles as less stitch skipping issues.
  • Quilting gloves or grips
  • Any rulers you purchase you will need ruler grips to place on bottom to prevent slipping (available in-store).
  • Thread: 100% cotton. 50-60 wt. Aurifil works great. Bring a colour that you can see your stitches clearly. Prewind at least three bobbins.
  • Be on time, relax, and bring all your energy for a fun and exciting day!!
